Triple J Unearthed quartet Minnie and The Moonrakers play music inspired by the raw, powerful recordings of a bygone era. The vocalist, Siobhan O’Brien, is a soulful performer with a big, gritty sound. She is backed by guitarist Gregory Powell, renowned for his edge of the seat guitar riffing and Scotty Sippel for his funky rhythms.
The band – which has brought its blues gumbo to a host of festivals, events and venues across Australia – has released two EPs (now available on all listening platforms). Notable gigs: International Blues Music Day Festival, The Blues Train, MONA Museum, Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, North East Food and Wine Festival and supporting festival faves 19-TWENTY.
Stage 88, Commonwealth Park This event is free. You do not need a ticket.
