Canberra Blues Society October Pro Blues Jam

Divine Devilles Band host Canberra Blues Society October Pro Blues Jam.

Mostly autobiographical, often hilarious, sometimes a bit naughty, and always true stories, presented in Blues songs written and performed by:

Ali Penney (vocal, keys) - Australia’s blues sweetie and multi-award winning artist, (most recently 2024 Winner - Favourite Keyboard Player - Sydney Blues Society Blues Awards), Ali is among a strong league of women in the Australian Blues scene.

Dorothy-Jane “DJ” Gosper (vocal, blues-harps) – An integral contributor to the heart and soul of the Canberra music scene; winner of numerous local music awards; a part of top Blues, Jazz and Roots acts including KarismaKatz, The Blues Cowgirls and Hot Flush Blues Band; has released ten albums and three EPs.

Since 2013 this powerhouse duo has been uplifting audiences across Australasia with award-winning songs, their grit, humour and grace.

They’ll be performing with their cracking rhythm section, Brian O’Rourke (bass) and Rob West (drums).

The host band will be followed by some of the finest musicians in the Canberra region, jamming together for a fabulous afternoon of live blues music.

• Jammers are expected to meet a competent standard of musicianship and be familiar with standard 3-chord, 12-bar blues songs.
• CBS provides a lyric folder of classic blues songs if required.
• If this is your first time, ask to speak to the Jam Session Coordinator to secure a place in a jam session.
• Jammers are encouraged to have their names on the whiteboard by 1pm.
• Late arrivals (after 1.30pm) cannot be guaranteed a spot in the Jam Session.
• The coordinator will try to give everyone an opportunity to perform.
• A rehearsed act may do a set as a band if it is prearranged at least 24 hours in advance of the jam by contacting the musicians representative via the contact us or the enquire now buttons.

NOTE: This is a Blues Jam so it is expected that blues orientated songs will be played.
